Raiding
In PoSG we raid because we enjoy going out there with our guild mates and experience some end-game content - not for the epic loot. We are a casual guild and try to make raiding available to as many members as possible, but being a part of the voluntary raid team means that there will be certain expectations of you. We may raid for the fun of it, but we still want to down the bosses so we all come prepared and do our very best when we are in there.
At the moment we are working our way through Kara. Below you will find an overview of how we approach raiding, for guild members there is more detailed information on the forum.
Times
Tue 21.00 - 00.00 (server time)
Some weeks we will have a 1-2 hour raid on a Thursday or Sunday as well to get the early Kara bosses out of the way.
Joining the raid team
If you want to join the raid team, you will be expected to post on the forum with your status against attunement and the required entry stats. Once you are attuned and meet the required stats, you can join the raid team.
Spots for any given week are allocated on a first come, first served basis (per role), via sign-up on the forum. We have a system whereby you will get first refusal next week if you do not get a spot when you sign up.
Attendance
We do not enforce any kind of attendance rules, as in you have to attend a certain number of raids per month or similar. However, we do expect you to turn up, on time, if you have been given a raid spot. We all have RL commitments and responsibilities, and sometimes things come up after you have said that you would attend a raid. No one will have a problem with you not being able to attend for a good reason, as long as you show the other raiders the courtesy to let the raid leader know as soon as possible that you won't be able to be there.
Invites for raids start 30 minutes before the starting time. If you are not online 15 minutes before start time, and haven't notified the raid leader that you will be late, your spot will be offered to the first reserve for that role.
Voice chat
As voice chat is now available as part of WoW itself, we expect all raiders to be on it during raids. We know that for some players it is not possible to speak on VC, just make sure to inform the raid leader beforehand that you won't be able to speak.
Add-ons
There are two add-ons that all raiders are required to have installed and active during raids. Omen threatmeter and Deadly Bossmods or BigWigs.
Consumables
You are expected to bring all consumables that you need to perform your role to the best of your ability - potions, elixirs, oils, bandages, reagents, arrows, buff food, water etc. Make sure you have plenty to last you the whole raid.
Loot
There is no DKP system in PoSG, but we do operate Master Loot on raid bosses. Raiders should have looked up the possible drops from bosses beforehand, so that they know which items they have an interest in.
For BoE green items the Master Looter will allocate all raiders a number and do a random 1-10 roll.
BoP items will first be offered to the role that they are appropriate for.
If they pass, it will be offered to anyone able to wear it for whom it is an upgrade.
If it is not an upgrade for anyone, it will be disenchanted and shards/crystals will be put in the guild bank.
Tactics
On the forum there are links to strategy guides and videos for raid bosses. When you are going up against a boss for the first time, make sure to spend a few minutes reading the appropriate guide/s before the raid. We might end up using a different tactic to the one in the guide, but at least you will know the key things about the bosses beforehand.
