Welcome to PoSG

Pride of St George is a casual guild and our main aim is to provide a friendly and social place for people to enjoy the game in whichever way makes it fun for them.

At the moment we do have a group of people that raid Kara once or twice a week, please do explore our site to find out more about us.

Guild Growth

It's been a good few weeks for the membership ranks of the guild.

Welcome all!

A steady influx of high level people has seen us going from occasionally pugging a few fillers on the second Karazhan night to having to, unfortunately, turn people away.

This is both a good and bad thing. Please bare with the guild Stewards while we attempt to deal fairly with sign-ups to make sure everyone who wants to get a chance to push themselves in harder game content.

To aid in this we're going to try to run Kara earlier in the scheduled week - Thursday.

We've also thaken a huge step forwards with Raid progression in starting regular Zul'Aman, this should become more frequent and will provide more interest for hte experienced raiders. hopefully we'll be able to make this a weekly run and start progressing both in bosses-downed but also speed.

Let's see how tonight goes... First chest anyone?

good kara run

well done to everyone who contributed to the kara run on the 4/8/08 we cleared all of the pre curator bosses including the dog boss, with an unorthadox (for the pride anyway) group which constisted of quite a lot of melee dps with players new to the instance and some seasoned players taking new characters through, the highlight of the night has to be opera, where we got rom & jul and downed em like they were trash, jul didnt get a single heal off and we basicly trashed them :) and i dont think there was a single death during the fight, morose proved to be a tricky customer, as we were lacking the 3rd shackle we are used to by now, and with our trapper being manaburned for the first 2 attempts and still managing to keep the mob trapped very well, morose went down in a flurry on the 3rd attempt, with healers being oom for the last 2 adds :(. still a very rewarding trip to kara and some nice loot being obtained. well done pride

Forum users tidy-up.

I'll be carrying out a clearout of registered user accounts that haven't been online in the last 2 months over the next few weeks.

This will have a knock-on effect on players active in the guild - anyone without a forum account will have their character(s) in the guild put back to Novice status. After a month at this status they will be removed from the Guild.

This is an effort to encourage (okay, force) people to be more active on the forum and hopefully clear down some of the 'deadwood' accounts from PoSG.

We want people to feel at home but there's no point being in a social guild if you don't join in the chat!

We'd rather there be fewer members but those members be active in the guild's day to day life and running.

9 man kara

big congrats to all involved for 9 manning the majority of kara (over 2 days) with some switching and shuffling between myself and ulv we managed a very balanced team, with a few false starts with various people being late and then our second tank coming then going afk for 20 minutes and making us wait, aside from all this, it was excellent fun and most deffinately a run to remember, keep it up guys :)

The Prince is dead.

Great performance by PoSG raiders in Karazhan last night with Moroes, Maiden, Opera (Rom and Jul), Curator, Chess and PRINCE all offed.

A couple of hiccups on trash mobs made the evening interesting and a premature start with Maiden resulted in a few unseemly deaths but the raid nicely regrouped and all other bosses were summarily dispatched.

Our first guild assault on the chief denizen of the castle faltered on the first two attempts bringing Prince Malchezaar down to as low as 200k health. The final try as midnight approaced (or retreated into the past for our EU members!) was a symphony of concerted effort with heroic performances throughout the raid.

13 badges and numerous purple rewards (Gief Mor Epyx!!!) mark this as a major milestone in our raiding.

Well done all!
